All Equalizer scalability features can be combined with each other to address the individual bottlenecks in a flexible way.
For example, a DB compound can be combined with a 2D compound to first break down the data size to fully fit onto the GPU, and then further sub-decompose the rendering using 2D decomposition with less compositing overhead.
The mix-and-match of Equalizer features is not limited to the basic decomposition modes 2D, DB, DPlex, stereo and pixel, but also applies to more advanced functionality. For example, a view equalizer relies on 2D load equalizers to balance the per-segment load on multi-display installations, or a DFR equalizer can be used with a 2D decomposition.
